- The invoice date, and the date you supplied the goods or services if it is different.
- A description of what you supplied, with quantities and prices.
- The total amount due and the date it should be paid by.
- How to pay you, such as your bank details.
- If you are VAT registered: your VAT number, the tax point, the VAT rate and the VAT amount.

Questions
How do I invoice a regular cleaning client?
Write the date range in a line description, such as "Weekly clean, 1 to 28 March", and set the quantity to the number of visits or hours.
Should I charge for supplies?
That is up to you. If you do, add them as a separate line so the client can see what they are paying for.
Do cleaners need to charge VAT?
Only if you are VAT registered. Most small cleaning businesses are not, so tax stays off.
Can I invoice a business for office cleaning?
Yes. Add the business name and address as the client and put the site address in the description if it is different.
